CrewieAI Isn't Giving Useful Answers
Make CrewieAI give you specific, contextual responses
CrewieAI is designed to give you answers that are specific to your business — not generic responses. If it's giving you vague or unhelpful answers, here's how to fix it.
Issue: CrewieAI doesn't seem to know your business
The most likely cause is that your strategy hasn't been set up yet. CrewieAI draws on your strategy, goals, projects, and tasks to give contextual answers. If those aren't filled in, it's working without context.
Fix: Go to Strategy Crew and complete your strategy. Even a basic setup — a North Star Metric and a few strategic goals — will dramatically improve CrewieAI's responses.
Issue: CrewieAI answers are too generic
You can make CrewieAI significantly more specific by adding to your Knowledge Base.
- Go to Knowledge in the left sidebar
- Add a Knowledge Doc with your processes, ways of working, or key definitions
- Add Snippets for quick-reference information — your ICP, key metrics, team norms
- Upload existing documents — Crewie will parse them automatically
The more relevant context you give CrewieAI, the more specific and useful its answers become.
Issue: CrewieAI gave incorrect information about your business
CrewieAI can occasionally misinterpret or misremember context. If it says something factually incorrect about your business:
- Correct it directly in the conversation — say "that's not right, here's the correct information"
- Add the correct information to your Knowledge Base so it has an accurate reference
Issue: CrewieAI is slow to respond
Occasional slowness can happen during peak usage. If it's consistently slow:
- Refresh the page
- Check your internet connection
- If the problem persists, contact support@crewie.app
Tips for getting the best out of CrewieAI
- Be specific in your questions. "What should I focus on?" works, but "What's the highest priority task linked to my North Star Metric this week?" works better.
- Give it context when asking about something new. "We're about to launch a new product — what risks should I flag?"
- Use the quick prompts. The pre-tuned questions are there because they're the most useful ones for your mode.
