Shoutouts and Team Recognition
Celebrate wins publicly and make sure good work gets seen
Shoutouts are Crewie's built-in recognition feature — a simple way to celebrate wins publicly and make sure good work gets seen.
Progress deserves recognition. Culture doesn't build itself. Shoutouts give teams a structured way to acknowledge each other without it feeling forced or performative.
How to give a shoutout
- Open any Workcrew
- Go to the Shoutouts tab
- Click "Give a Shoutout"
- Select the team member you're recognising
- Write what they did and why it mattered
- Post it
Shoutouts appear in the Workcrew activity feed and are visible to all members of that crew.
Tips for great shoutouts
- Be specific. "Great work this week" lands differently from "You spotted the dependency issue in the product sprint that would have cost us two weeks — that mattered."
- Give them in the moment. Recognition is most meaningful when it's timely.
- Make it a habit, not a ceremony. Regular small recognitions build stronger culture than occasional big ones.
For team leaders
Make shoutouts part of your weekly rhythm. Before your weekly sprint review, take two minutes to think about who deserves recognition this week and give it publicly. It takes 60 seconds and the effect on team morale is disproportionate to the effort.
